Sirimote

With macOS Big Sur and Macs with Apple Silicon on the horizon, I wanted to give a quick update on my Mac apps.
All of them are now available in a new version, making them run nicely under macOS Big Sur, and have been recompiled to natively run on Apple Silicon.

Eternal Storms Software - Freeware Apps (SiriMote) SiriMote for Mac. Control your Mac. With your Apple TV Siri Remote. Requires OS X Sierra 10.12 (or newer) and a Mac with Bluetooth 4.0. Launch, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, Next Track, Previous Track. Warachot Sirimote is on Facebook. Join Facebook to connect with Warachot Sirimote and others you may know. Facebook gives people the power to share and makes the world more open and connected. SiriMote lets you control your Mac with your Apple TV Siri Remote. Turn your Mac system-volume up or down; and control iTunes, Keynote, QuickTime, VLC Player and more (any app that responds to the media keys on your Mac's keyboard). SiriMote doesn't work on Mbp anymore. I switched macs from my older 13 inch to a 15' model. I used to be able to connect my Siri Remote to the old one and control my computer using BetterTouchTool, but now with my new mbp (MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) running macOS Catalina), the bluetooth does not connect to my Siri Remote. Introducing: SiriMote Apart from pairing the Remote with your Mac to test Apple TV apps running in Xcode’s Simulator, the Remote is not of much use on the Mac. That’s where SiriMote comes into play: It enables you to use the Apple TV Siri Remote with all sorts of applications.

Here’s a quick run-down of what else is new:

As always, if you have any feedback or questions, please don’t hesitate to write me!

I just bought standalone Siri Remote (only remote without apple TV) to add new feature for my iphone game. It works all great (both motion and microgamepad profile) when I pair Siri Remote with my Macbook and test GameController API inside sample tvOS Project (using Xcode tvOS simulator).

I also tested with free mac app (SiriMote) - and everything works great too.

However once I try to test the same code inside MacOS or iOS app, Siri controller is never detected (I double checked to be sure Siri Remote is Paired and Connected via Settings -> Bluetooth).

is always empty. I also don't receive any GCControllerDidConnect or GCControllerDidDisconnectevents

I added the below fields to plist (but tried with different combinations as well) and even explicitly added GameController.framework to 'Linked Frameworks and Libraries':

My setup:

iPhone 5SE (iOS 10.3.1)

Xcode 8.3.1

Sirimote Netflix

Swift 3.1

Siri Remote Model: A1513 (engraved on the back)

Apple 4k Siri Remote

Macbook Pro 15' mid 2012 (Sierra 10.12.4)
